Mrs. Thasmina Ashraff is an inspirational leader of education for succeeding in different roles in different settings. She started her career as a government school teacher. After her post-graduation served as a visiting lecturer in the field of higher educational institutions such as universities, advance technological institutes, technical colleges etc. At last supported her husband, Dr. A.F.M. Ashraff to establish one of the best international schools, Cambridge International School in Trincomalee.
Mrs. Ashraff has played an active role in Cambridge’s journey to becoming a Trincomalee’s top international school and stands continually committed to take forward the vision of the management.
Mrs. Ashraff has completed her first degree at the University of Peradeniya in 2001 and gained Master in Linguistics at University of Kelaniya in 2014. In addition to the above she has completed a Postgraduate diploma in English Language Teaching in India. She has over 20 years of experience in teaching in the field of education both secondary and tertiary level. And she is serving as a principal from the beginning of the Cambridge, Trincomalee.
Being an active teacher and administrator, Mrs. Ashraff focused on the discipline and the holistic development of the students. This dual focus was instrumental in enriching the standard of the schools she was involved in. In early years of Cambridge, Mrs. Ashraff also concentrated on developing leadership skills of the students as well as the usage of English Language in the school environment. This focus made the students more confident and engaged in school activities.
Mrs. Ashraff is an ardent lover of nature and is one of the qualified teachers in Sri Lanka, having received her credentials from several higher educational institutions. As a Principal with a nurturing personality, she motivates teachers and students to smart individually and as a team.
