Trincomalee District is located in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. It has an area of 2,727 Square Kilometers. According to the census of 2012 the population is 378,182. Trincomalee district is divided into 11 Divisional Secretariat Division each headed by a Divisional Secretary. Trincomalee is a Multi-ethnic and Multi-cultural region in the country. Tamil and Sinhala are the major mother tongues of the District. There are sufficient Government Schools to continue the studies with local Syllabus in Tamil and Sinhala Medium than the English Medium. There was a great demand for a fully fledge International School in Trincomalee. Therefore, the management of the Cambridge International Services (Pvt) Ltd has decided to setup a fully-fledged School to offer quality international education with Edexcel qualifications.

Cambridge International School was established in 2017 in Trincomalee. The business is registered under the companies act as Cambridge International Services (Private) Limited and started its schooling services on the 3rd of September 2017 with 14 students and 8 staff members. Now there are around 300 students and 20 staff members.

Cambridge proudly proclaims that it is an international school in a Sri Lankan environment. The school has taken meaningful initiatives to inculcate in the minds of children, be they Sri Lankan, a sense of belongings and love for the Motherland and respect for its customs, norms and values.

Students engage themselves in daily religious observances and a variety of religious, charitable and social service activities. All Cambridge students are exhorted to pay obeisance to their parents daily according to the customs of the community they belong to. The student – teacher relationship in the school is essentially friendly and the management style is stable, responsive and fair.
